Saddam to die any minute.

In a statement of just how far Iraq has come since the American’s showed up, Saddam Hussein will be hanged, any minute, for his actions during his rule over the Arab nation.

If nothing else in the way of progress happened, America’s influence, instead of peace, harmony, security, trade, education, health, welfare or religious tolerance, has brought death.

Hussein is a man; a man who killed people. He did do terrible things to his people, but in the end, he is a man who killed people for standing against him, his rule and his power.

And in America, the solution is death. The recourse for the damned is damning, and by God it will be shown that America brought more death to Iraq than Saddam. Right, wrong, politically or religiously correct or not, yes Saddam is brutal, yes he killed people, and yes we killed him.

We’ll celebrate it tomorrow, but in the end, one reporter mourns, not the death of one man, but the sad conclusion to a chapter in Iraq. Another chapter that ends in death.

Text messages to hit all time high on New Year’s

All those friends in high and far places are going to be that much harder to reach out and touch this New Year’s. According to a press release:

Airwide Solutions, the leading provider of mobile messaging infrastructure and applications, today announces expectations of an all-time peak in SMS volumes during the upcoming New Year’s celebrations. Volumes typically increase each year, but this year Airwide predicts higher than average increases in SMS volumes, particularly in countries with developing mobile networks, such as Eastern Europe, North Africa and parts of Asia. In addition to this, a number of Airwide’s operator customers are making improvements in their messaging infrastructure specifically for the coming festive peaks.

The release said that over 1 billion SMS text messages could be sent in the Dec. 31-Jan. 1 period.

This is especially true in developing nations and areas like China where cell phone use is growing fastest.

“While increased traffic provides great revenue potential for operators, it also presents the challenges of ensuring that the underlying infrastructure does not become congested while subscribers send these time-sensitive messages,” said Jay Seaton, CMO of Airwide Solutions, “and that the operators’ networks and subscribers are protected from mobile fraud, spam and other security threats.”

Yahoo! gets beat by MySpace for the first time

Yahoo! has shown its true colors, and they’re not Fox gold and blue.

CNN has reported MySpace drew more American website visitors in November than Yahoo!, for the first time ever. MySpace, the News Corporation-owned social networking site has been gaining on the giant Internet directory for some time now.

While this does raise serious concerns about the former king of the hill, the news may not signal the end of the line for Yahoo!. According to CNN:

a one-month change could represent an aberration. Furthermore, Yahoo’s page views could be diminished by the company’s growing use of Ajax technology for maps, e-mail and other services.

Yahoo!’s people were quick to defend the company, saying that they remained at the top of the web content world. New technologies may not yield more page views, but according to one Yahoo! spokeswoman, their reach has not necessarily been affected.

“Yahoo continues to be the overall Web audience leader with the largest number of unique users and most time spent online. The page view change in November is related to the use of Ajax and other Web 2.0 technologies across the Yahoo network,” Yahoo spokeswoman Nissa Anklesaria said to CNN on Tuesday.

News Corporation’s web holdings had a great overall month with IGN drawing a huge crowd of visitors when Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii launched.
