AT 38,000 FEET OVER TEXAS — I had the opportunity to pay $20 extra for today’s plane ride, part of Jet Blue’s (and every other airline’s) new efforts to suck every penny out of the overtaxed, overcharged, under-served American consumer, when I stepped up to the counter with two suitcases to check.
