Did God send a plague of swarming gnats as punishment for the Evil Empire?

Red Sox fans say yes, and the Yankees’ Joba Chamberlain may be inclined to agree. The Indians tied Game 2 of the ALDS in the eighth inning on a wild pitch as the bugs swarmed him. Andy Pettitte had gone 6 1/3 scoreless, but the Indians won in 11 innings.
