It was part of a settlement: the UPS (US Postal Service) was put out by the band "encroaching" on their name. In return for letting them keep the name, they were allowed to use the song. The Iron & Wine version of the song was used for an M & M's commercial, as well.

I found the choice of music ironic as well. Is it me, or does this commercial look like an XPLANE (www.xplane.com)group session. Maybe Dave Strong should start billing UPS.

I can't decide if I like these commercials or not. Sure, white boards amuse me, and the guy's kind of funny, but I don't know how I feel about the concept that we as consumers need things spelled out to us. I don't know. But the comments he makes just as the commercial's fading usually amuse me.

And I did notice that about the song. Everyone in the bar looked at me like I was a complete tool.
